Muscle relaxation is crucial for pain relief, as pain is often caused by muscle tension (even such things as tension headaches). Sometimes joint pain is mainly because of the muscles clamping much too tightly over joints, thereby causing them to rub together more than is good. The solution? Hot tub spas and hydrotherapy can promote less stress on both bones and muscles by making you feel weightless - and this can bring relief of the symptoms of fibromyalgia and arthritis, as well as other things.

The body has many ways of cleaning away wastes. Οne strategy is through sweating. Since the water in a hottub is so warm, it stimulates sweating, which helps remove some of the development of toxins throughout the body.

Two other advantages to spending time in a hot tub include the release of endorphins through the body by the heat and pressure supplied by the jets. Endorphins are a natural product that is produced by your body and it is considered a "happy drug". It makes you feel great and cuts back the amount of pain you are able to feel. A soothing massage from the jets also contributes to the relaxation of your entire body.

There are a number of warnings that should be considered. First of all, the vasodilatation, or opening up of the blood vessels, that occurs increases the temperature of your body and can raise your full body temperature possibly as high as 102 degrees. This is not safe for too long of a time, so it is recommended that you stay in the hottub for up to 15 minutes. Listening to your body is what you should do to keep yourself healthy and safe.

Even though hot tub water therapy will lower blood pressure, it at first increases it due to the heart wanting to get the heat out of your body. That means that people who have been diagnosed with high blood pressure problems (especially if you are on multiple medications) should speak with their physicians before trying hot tub warm water therapy. Οther types of medical conditions may prevent hot tubs from being the healthiest way of relaxation. Ask your doctor!
